The rise of money and the opportunity to accumulate it, was perhaps necessary for the rise of the group in the Himalayas that Ingela was a member of.
In one of our first interviews, I asked her a bit about who was in the group. 
“Do you know how this group that you were in was
created?” “Well, it was apparently by chance at a meeting of celebrities who had worked on developing AI - Artificial Intelligence. My work on AI was why I was invited.” “Were these people from the USA?” “Actually, except for me and one other AI specialist, the group was initially just a few very rich people from the USA, China, and England. It began when two of them were at a conference and were sitting around after a dinner and somehow just got to discussing how they had both gone from being very poor to very wealthy and how new ideas could be worth so much. They actually thought it unfortunate that they had so much money, while so many other people were still very poor and sometimes starving. They both gave quite large sums of money to projects to improve the situations of many poorer people, but they didn’t see any way to really improve the situation much, partially because of all the wars, huge tariffs between countries and other conflicts, etc.” |
